Big News on the Molecule Design Studios Home-Front!

For over seven years MDS has been working with companies from both the U.S. and Latin America on various aspects of their campaigns; from logos, print ads, product manuals, catalogs, and packaging, to the creation of various highly functioning e-commerce websites.

Because of our constant effort to expand business and nurture our thriving relationships with Latin American companies, MDS is proud to announce its new location in Bogotá, Colombia to serve the entire region.  We believe Colombia is a hub for Latin business and expect this office to be the center of our business south of the border.

According to the International Monetary Fund,

“Latin America is poised for what could be its fifth consecutive year of strong economic growth in 2008. Overall, the IMF predicts that growth in the region will be about 5 percent in 2007, moderating to about 4¼ percent in 2008... if developments turns out as expected, 2008 would be the fifth year in a row that growth has exceeded 4 percent, Latin America's best performance in decades.”

In Other News

In other news, MDS was picked by the United Nations in Colombia to create the new image for their cooperation plan between the respected organization and the Colombian government. This plan is called “UNDAF” (UN Development Assistance Framework).  In order to make sure the plan could be understood by everyone, MDS decided to re-brand the entire thing and named it “UNIDOS” (United) (hey, UNDAF doesn’t really say much, does it?) and created a logo that clearly shows the four different elements that encompass this interesting arrangement between the two which will be in place from 2008 to 2012.  Check back for some very interesting news coming up between MDS and the UN soon.

Molecule Design Studios latest web development project featured on K-CAL 9 news!

If you watch K-CAL 9 News, you may have recently seen a special report on a company called Futureresume.com.

Times are hard, but don’t stop your advertising.

If you stop advertising during a time of Recession, the risks are high to kill your brand.

Whatever you do, don’t stop advertising. Executives often see cutting advertising budgets as the easy way out during an economic downturn because it can be enacted overnight. But this is the time to capture the hearts and minds of consumers. Robust businesses increase advertising in a recession.  It is well documented that brands that increase advertising during a recession, when competitors are cutting back, can improve market share and return on investment at lower cost than during good economic times. Uncertain consumers need the reassurance.

As David Ogilvy put it:

“There is a consequential effect that marketing has on your business one, two, three years and more down the line if you don’t market during a recession. And while the cost of living increases along with inflation and other factors, you will be losing sales and income down the road when you will really need it if you cut back on marketing during times of recession. But as I say, even though unfortunately, companies will invariably cut their advertising budget during a recession so be smarter and use that to your advantage – for more business and growth now as well as in the future, because if you do you will come way out ahead when the recession starts to wane.”
